Naples/Pompeii and the way home

Since our plane ride got canceled and were stranded in rome for another day, (I know, poor us), we decided to go down to southern Italy and look at Vesuvius and Pompeii. The train ride was supposed to take a couple hours, but somehow it took much longer. We ended up getting there just as they were shutting the gates to see Pompeii. haha. Of course that is our luck. So we tried to jump over the wall surrounding Pompeii to get a good look at it. Needless to say, this wasn't very helpful so we only got a couple pics. Vesuvius was crazy looking though! It freaked me out a little bit. You can hike up there to the top of the volcano but I'm a little weirded out of hiking up an active volcano to get a look at that hot magna. Doesn't seem like the smartest thing to do.

Southern Italy is beautiful though! (except naples, that place is a serious hole). There were orange trees everywhere, and a rocky coast which led to some beautiful landscapes. I would definitely go back to Southern Italy someday! That place is gorgeous!

On our way home we had a flight from Rome to Paris, and then Paris to LA. The flight from Rome to Paris was mostly Europeans. There were a couple of people sitting right behind us on the flight that did not speak the same language. One spoke French, and the other spoke Italian. However, they were screaming at each other in the only language they could understand each other in: English. Having two Europeans scream at each other (which included a series of the F word), is pretty funny. They each have their own accents, and they weren't fluent in English yet they somehow knew every swear word in English. It was the highlight of my trip home. I couldn't help but sit there and listen to their argument and giggle to myself and how ludicrous it was. It was a good ending to amazing European trip!
